Cerno Bioscience says it will unveil a ground-breaking technological advancement for its award-winning post acquisition software MassWorks exclusively at Pittcon 2007 in Chicago, USA
This innovation will provide mass spectrometry users with unprecedented capabilities in elemental composition determination, says Cerno.
Using Cerno's innovative calibration techniques combined with this latest breakthrough, users of any single or triple quadrupole mass spectrometer will be able to attain unambiguous elemental composition ID, a capability previously not possible with accurate mass measurements alone and difficult to achieve even on more expensive high resolution systems.
MassWorks utilises Cerno's patented MSIntegrity calibration technology to achieve up to 100X improvement in mass accuracy on unit mass resolution mass spectrometers.
This allows users to obtain mass accuracies of up to 5ppm, a capability usually only available on more expensive high resolution systems.
MassWorks significantly improves the quality of data from any mass spectrometer from unit mass resolution instruments through to FTMS systems.
Yongdong Wang, president of Cerno Bioscience comments: "We have been overwhelmed with the industry response to our MassWorks software.
"With this new innovation, we are hoping to further surprise the marketplace with the results available from Cerno's groundbreaking technology".
Cerno has had two oral presentations accepted by the Pittcon committee as part of the conference programme.
Topics include small molecule identification and elemental composition determination.
In 2006, Cerno Bioscience made its Pittcon debut with MassWorks, winning the Editors' Choice bronze award for 'Most Innovative Product'.
This prestigious accolade is given to the best new product introduction for its contribution to the advancement of science, as judged by a panel of editors attending the show.
The MassWorks software package was recognised by a panel of 16 editors for substantial improvements in mass accuracy on unit mass resolution mass spectrometers.
This innovative, patented technology has been specifically developed for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, forensic and environmental industries.
