Delegates to the 7th European Society of Autoradiography meeting will be the first to see the 2.1 release of Seescan software for quantitative whole body autoradiography (WBA) image analysis
Innovations include the facility to overlay two images in order to compare the visible section with the autoradiogram - particularly useful for marking tissue regions in areas with low activity close to the limit of quantification.
Images can be rotated and re-sized so that an accurate comparison can be made.
Other new features include a variable width 'ribbon' measuring tool for thin membranes in addition to the freehand, circle, square, line and autoscan measuring frames already available; and an 'image map' that gives technicians an overall view so they can quickly determine their position on the plate - especially helpful when it consists of several different sections.
Fully supported on Windows Vista, Seescan 2.1 supports imaging file formats from all standard scanners including Molecular Dynamics, Fuji, Biospace, and Cyclone Phosphor Imaging Systems.
Results can be displayed either individually or as a mean for the tissue being measured.
They can be cross-referenced with the region they were obtained from by simply clicking on the measurement; the image appears with the measured region highlighted.
All data can be reviewed and transferred to other Microsoft Office applications.
