A 300m long agitated cell reactor (ACR) with tantalum agitators will be able to match the performance of 500metre long tube reactor, says AM Technology
AM Technology is adding tantalum agitators to its range of Coflore agitated cell reactors (ACR).
The agitated cell reactor is a new and versatile alternative to the glass lab reactor.
Compared to the glass lab reactor, it offers high cooling capacity, high operating pressures and more efficient separation between reactants and products.
As a continuous system, it allows the user to vary throughput from less than 10g to more than 10kg per hour.
This latter capability saves development time during scale up as widely varying output quantities can be made with the equipment same and method.
Product in the ACR flows continuously through a series reaction cells with each cell containing a freely moving agitator.
The ACR is designed for reactions of ten seconds to 100 hours in duration.
The new tantalum agitator elements will increase mixing efficiency for more viscous or immiscible fluids.
The tantalum agitator elements can be fitted within less than ten minutes.
