Lambda Advanced Technology has announced the availability of the 'speedwave four' microwave digestion system from Berghof.
The speedwave four features Berghof's contact-free temperature measurement system and patented contact-free pressure management system for all of the sample vessels.
It also has a controller that includes network compatibility through an Ethernet interface.
The speedwave four is used for the preparation of samples for atomic absorption, ICP or ICP/MS analysis.
It offers sophisticated digestion control, using microwave sample heating to give reduced digestion times and high sample throughput rates.
A maximum temperature of 260C and operating pressures of up to 190 bar allows a range of digestions to be carried out, from routine applications in food, environmental and medical applications, to hard-to-digest inorganic samples.
A choice of digestion vessels allows multiple digestions to be carried out simultaneously.
The controller features a built-in Power PC 5200 for local operation using speedwave AC software through an integral touchscreen.
The speedwave AC programs are readily accessed and conform to a number of standards, including EPA 3051, EPA 3052 and EPA 3015.
In addition, user-defined operating methods can be developed and saved.
The speedwave four can also be operated by an external PC or connected to a network via its Ethernet interface, allowing password-protected access by any PC on the network.
This integration allows direct archiving of all digestion data and methods across the network.
Access to the unit is made through the web browser, so no special software is required.
Data can also be downloaded directly from an integral USB interface.
