Scienion AG has introduced two new models of the Sciflexarrayer dispensing system for automated ultra-low volume liquid handling of genomic and proteomic biological samples.
The Sciflexarrayer DW is small and lightweight.
Its efficient turntable design ensures a small footprint.
The DW speeds-up basic research and shortens development times for multi-parallel bioanalytics.
Applications include the handling and deposition of DNAs, oligos, peptides, proteins, antibodies, glycans, lysates and a variety of different cells onto multiple substrates.
The DW has an aspirate/dispense mode from vials and allows bulk dispensing or aliquoting from large reservoirs (up to one litre).
The DW enables spotting of customised arrays with dot pitch sizes above 200um with pico- to nanoliter volumes of up to 16 biological samples on up to four slides.
The Sciflexarrayer SX is a scalable robotic dispensing platform that can be adjusted to the size of the working area.
It comes with an integrated enclosure and enables users to choose working areas between 1400 and 3375cm2.
This increases the capacity for standard formats such as microtiter plates or glass slides.
The SX can also hold larger formats such as wafers or membranes.
The Sciflexarrayer SX has a good footprint-to-working-area relation, reduced weight and excellent motion performance.
The new Sciflexarrayer models and other Scienion products were showcased at Medica in Dusseldorf, Germany, 19-22 November 2008.
