Mettler Toledo has introduced version 5.2 of Freeweigh.Net, its software for quality control in pharmaceutical production, including pre-packaging and in-process control.
The system is suited for quality control of single-dose drug preparations, individual blister filling and retail pack checking.
Freeweigh.Net provides pharmaceutical companies with functions to ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
The optional Audit Trail module uses programmable logs to guarantee traceability of all changes in the system.
The software provides an unlimited number of user groups and more than 50 individual centrally managed authorisation options.
A comprehensive password management system and electronic signatures offer additional security.
The Freeweigh.Net device integration module allows a variety of devices to be connected to the system without additional programming.
For instance, a tablet-conveyor system can be incorporated to allow for checking of tablet characteristics such as weight, diameter, thickness or hardness, providing quick and easy connection and monitoring of all necessary instruments.
Checkweighers, metal detectors and manual test instruments for small batches can also be integrated and centrally monitored for packaging quality control.
Freeweigh.Net supports regulations of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopeia (PhEur).
The software platform was developed to meet all Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) requirements.
