SMI-Labhut has launched the Solventtrak solvent recycler, which is capable of recovering up to 90 per cent of solvent for re-use.
The company said the global acetonitrile (CAN) shortage has hit the analytical industry hard and suppliers are warning of restricted supplies until as late as the end of 2009.
Solventtrak uses an integration algorithm that accurately detects peaks in the eluent.
This is more flexible than just using a signal threshold level and will detect and eliminate peaks with rising and falling baselines.
Solventtrak installs into any isocratic HPLC system.
It can place a tick mark (peak marker) on the output signal to show exactly where peaks have been detected and sent to waste.
This can be useful for setup, testing and validation.
