John Morris Scientific has introduced Spectrum's handheld IPM Scope, which combines a digital camera, precision optics, LED lighting and software.
The IPM's versatile 40x or 140x magnification defines fine details of plant disease symptoms, insects or anything else too small to see with the naked eye.
The IPM Scope is placed over the leaf and the magnified image is transferred via a USB port directly to a laptop.
The IPM Scope also allows users to capture still images, add descriptive labels, make measurements and draw right on the image, which can then be emailed or printed for remote diagnosis or illustration.
The IPM Scope comes with all the software required to capture and archive still images.
The video upgrade bundle can be bought separately to provide the ability to capture live videos and time-lapse sequences.
John Morris Scientific is distributing Spectrum's technologies in Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the west Pacific.
