Newport's spectra-physics lasers division has introduced the Iris Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO), a tunable ultrafast laser source for advanced imaging and spectroscopy applications.
The Iris OPO is optimised for use with Newport's Mai Tai HP ultrafast laser.
It delivers what Newport claims is the widest gap-free ultrafast tuning range in the industry from the ultraviolet (UV) to the infrared (340 to 2500nm) and the highest power in the UV and visible.
The Iris OPO features full automation for computer-controlled tuning across the range, without adjustment or changing optics.
The Iris OPO has multiple output ports for simultaneous UV, visible and infrared output, making it ideal for applications that require multiple wavelengths, such as coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) imaging.
The Iris OPO delivers >1W of average power from 340-520nm and >400mW from 490-750nm.
It provides adjustable pulse widths (from 80 to 350fs).
It is optimised for high stability and is insensitive to ambient temperature change.
