The 300SL liquid scintillation counter, which removes the need to have a standard source of radioactivity to compensate for quench phenomena, is now available in North America from IN/US Systems.
The instrument uses the absolute activity measurement method known as triple-to-double coincidence ratio (TDCR).
This technology eliminates the work associated with installing a standard source and the safety issues and expense of disposing of it at the end of the counter's useful life.
The 300SL has a small footprint measuring 20in wide x 25in deep x 27in high, which means it can be integrated into laboratories with limited bench space or used in transportable applications.
External standards can also be used for traditional quench level determinations and Alpha/Beta separation is available as an option.
An up-to-date external desktop or laptop PC is used to control the instrument and perform data analysis.
The software can also export the data directly or via a network to Excel or other programs.
