Fumecare, the UK-based designer of fume containment systems, has launched its Economy FC5 range of fume cupboards.
The FC5 is a compact bench mounted unit that is ideal for laboratories where space is limited or where only small volumes of harmful substances are handled.
There is no need for ducting to be installed due to the unit’s recirculatory airflow: fumes pass through the unit’s filters, which re-circulate clean air back into the laboratory. Internal lighting illuminates the work surface and clear acrylic panels allow for all-round viewing.
The system’s ductless construction allows for the unit to be moved easily and set up in a different locations. Once it has been relocated, it simply plugs in for immediate use.
Available in three standard widths - 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm - the FC5 is equipped with a safety LED alarm system that constantly displays the face velocity of the air. It will alert the operator if this velocity falls below 0.3 M/Sec by means of a visual and audible alarm.
Carbon and HEPA filters are available to suit most laboratory applications.
