Analytical Technologies introduce Sebia's upgraded manual electrophoresis system, incorporating the new K20 universal applicator specially designed for use with Hydragel applications
With test kits available for the assay of proteins, haemoglobins, isoenzymes, lipoproteins and immunofixations, the K20 manual system offers a range of applications in line with those available on the Hydrasys automated system.
The gels' seven-sample capacity makes them ideal for the low-throughput analysis of proteins, immunofixations, and haemoglobins in clinical biochemistry and haematology laboratories.
For protein electrophoresis no predilution of serum samples is required, band resolution is improved, and gels can be heat-fixed without the use of acetic acid or alcohol.
Immunofixations can easily be performed on one or two samples per gel, eliminating the need for heavy pressing or washing steps.
The reusable mask for antisera application reduces the cost per test as a lower volume is required.
The gels can be analysed by traditional densitometry with the Windows-based Hyrys I or by using Sebia's Phoresis software, which utilises flat bed scanning technology to perform automatic scanning, curve manipulation and band quantification accompanied by the storage of protein and immunofixation results for archive.
