Requiring only 20µl of sample, osmolality can be accurately determined in less than 90 seconds making this an effective tool for emergency medicine
Fiske announces the introduction of the 210 micro-sample osmometer - with only 20 microlitres (µl) of sample required, osmolality can be accurately determined in less than 90 seconds. Recognising that bench space is at a premium in most laboratories, Fiske has designed a new osmometer with a compact footprint and on-board supply compartment.
Laboratory installations will benefit from an organised workstation and reduced space requirement.
There is also an optional mobile cart for transporting the osmometer to satellite locations.
The new Fiske Osmometer features an Intel microprocessor for improved data handling and software architecture.
Test results can be stored in the instrument, and downloaded at a later time to a PC, Lims or directly to a printer.
Bar codes are supported for positive sample identification.
Performance is achieved by a unique sample probe and sample tube configuration that is continuously self-centering.
The stability of this design minimises drift.
Calibration, while seldom necessary, is accomplished by the push of a button.
The Fiske 210 is intended for use in a variety of clinical and industrial settings such as emergency medicine, internal medicine/endocrinology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and food and beverage industries.
