Accelerated solvent extractor uses increased temperature and pressure to accelerate extraction of solid matrices while minimising solvent use
Dionex has introduced an entry-level accelerated solvent extractor, the ASE 100.
The new system is said to be economical and offers fast and efficient extraction for a large range of sample sizes.
ASE is accepted as a fast, easy-to-use technology for the extraction of solid matrices, and is designed to directly replace time- and solvent-consuming extraction approaches, such as Soxhlet, sonication, and wrist-shaker methods.
ASE meets requirements for extraction under US EPA SW-846 Method 3545A. With the introduction of the ASE 100, small laboratories now have an entry level option for ASE to extract 30g of wet soil, sediment, or biota for semi-volatiles, total petroleum hydrocarbons, organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, dioxins and furans, organophosphorous pesticides, and chlorinated herbicides.
Other extraction applications with the ASE 100 include pharmaceuticals/natural products, plastics/polymers, and food.
ASE uses increased temperature and pressure to accelerate extraction and minimise solvent use.
