A new technical note from ESA Analytical describes a validated method for the sample preparation and analysis of fat soluble vitamins in serum
Using the CoulArray detection system, ESA's Vitascan methodology provides a new, highly sensitive and selective HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of fat soluble vitamins including retinol (vitamin A), retinyl palmitate, vitamin E, beta-carotene, lutein, lycopene and CoQ10.
Offered as a ESA laboratory service or a methodology to be performed on a CoulArray HPLC detection system the validated procedures followed are in accordance with CLIA 88 and NIST Micronutrient Measurement QA Programme protocols.
With its multi-channel electrochemical detection array, the CoulArray HPLC detection system has the dynamic range and detection capabilities to permit the simultaneous determination of all the fat soluble vitamins mentioned.
This provides for considerable time savings and improvements in sample throughput over using traditional wet chemical or spectroscopic HPLC detection methods.
