Personal cell analysis system streamlines cell monitoring and screening in a single, powerful system that anyone in the laboratory can use
Guava Technologies has announced what it says is a breakthrough in accurate and rapid high-throughput screening of cell lines and compounds.
The new Guava personal cell analysis-96 (PCA-96) system streamlines cell monitoring and screening in a single, powerful system that anyone in the lab can use.
The Guava PCA-96 is the first affordable, ultra-compact system to enable rapid, high-throughput screening of cell lines and compounds in both 96-well microplate and microcentrifuge tube format.
PCA-96 system simplifies cell monitoring and screening using samples only a few microlitres in volume, experiments can be started sooner and finished faster, with minimal waste, streamlining the entire R and D process.
The Guava PCA-96 offers turnkey operation in an integrated system consisting of the compact PCA-96 instrument, software to automatically analyse and archive data, and optimised reagents.
Current screening assays available for the Guava PCA-96 include cell counting and viability assay, protein expression assay and apoptosis assay.
To accommodate evolving assay needs, the Guava PCA-96 system is expandable so that users can add new applications in the future.
"The Guava PCA-96 has given us insights into a cell-based screen that we could not have achieved with conventional high throughput screening (HTS) assays," said Jill Gregory, staff scientist at Genzyme, an early user of the Guava PCA-96.
"It has great value not only for assay development and drug lead optimisation, but is also a credible screening instrument giving high content readouts from a single well."
