Laboratory furniture maker Jamestown Metal Products has acquired Jamestown Laminating, a manufacturer of laminated products
Jamestown Metal Products, a provider of steel laboratory equipment, furniture and fixtures, has acquired Jamestown Laminating, a manufacturer of laminated products, also of Jamestown, New York.
The laminating company will operate as Jamestown Scientific Industries, a unit of Jamestown Metal Products.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Jamestown Laminating, founded in 1958, provides self-edged, vinyl-edged, painted and post-formed and specialty laminated products to a range of markets, including office, school and government furniture, medical instrumentation, and store fixtures.
Jamestown Metal Products will integrate laminating capabilities into its product and service offerings over the next several months.
The company's workforce has joined Jamestown Metal Products, with future hiring planned to meet growth in demand.
Including the new employees on staff, Jamestown Metal Products employs nearly 150 people.
Jamestown Metal Products will retain the Second Street facilities of the laminating unit.
