Silicon strain gauge on sapphire carrier bonded to a titanium diaphragm sounds almost good enough to wear but actually makes a durable and stable transducer
New from Omega, the PXM4200 series pressure transducers bring state-of-the-art silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) sensor technology to the industrial arena.
The SOS construction uses very stable silicon strain gauges on a sapphire carrier, which is bonded to a titanium diaphragm.
This combination provides a very durable transducer, which has excellent stability over a wide temperature range of -50 to +120C.
The transducer is loop powered with a 4-20mA output.
Process connection is made via a ¼" BSP male fitting with all titanium-wetted parts.
The unit has 0.25% accuracy with zero and span adjustment in ranges from 500mbar to 1500 bar.
Electrical connection is made via a standard DIN connector with the option of a plug on loop powered 3½ digit LED display, available with intrinsically safe version for hazardous areas or set-point with open collector output.
