PerkinElmer Life Sciences has announced the commercial availability of lutetium-177 (Lu-177), an important radioisotope being investigated for use in the radiotherapeutic treatment of cancers such as breast, prostate, colon and brain.
PerkinElmer Life Sciences will become the first company to offer Lu-177 with worldwide distribution capabilities.
Until now, there has not been a reliable supplier of this important radioisotope.
As demand for Lu-177 is increasing and the current supply is limited, PerkinElmer's goal is to provide the market with a much-needed continuous and reliable supply.
The company's broad distribution channels are geared to help ensure timely, quality delivery of this short-lived isotope.
