For both academic and industrial laboratories routinely analysing PCR fragments using agarose gel electrophoresis, Promega's new GoTaq DNA polymerase saves time and increases convenience by allowing researchers to go immediately from thermocycler to gel - without the need to add loading buffer.
GoTaq DNA polymerase contains native Taq DNA polymerase and is supplied with 5X Green GoTaq reaction buffer and 5X colourless GoTaq reaction buffer. Both reaction buffers are detergent-free and recommended for use with instrumentation that may be sensitive to detergents such as DNA spotting or printing instruments and DNA chromatography applications.
The colourless buffer (without dyes) is particularly suitable for applications where absorbance or fluorescence measurements are made without prior clean-up.
The green GoTaq reaction buffer contains blue and yellow dyes that separate during electrophoresis to allow monitoring of the migration process.
The buffer also increases the density of the sample so that it sinks into the agarose gel well.
There is no need for researchers to add any other dyes.
Versatile and easy-to-use, GoTaq DNA polymerase reactions are compatible with common PCR additives such as betaine and DMSO.
Additives do not affect the colour of the dyes and the system is also compatible with downstream applications.
