The Unfors Light-O-Meter is a simple, pocket-sized instrument for quality assurance checking of radiological equipment
The Unfors Light-O-Meter is a simple, pocket-sized instrument for quality assurance checking of workstations, image displays, monitors, image intensifier monitors and film viewing boxes in radiology departments.
Available exclusively in the UK from Southern Scientific, the Light-O-Meter has two microprocessor controlled detectors and a multi-channel capability that allows simultaneous measurement of luminance (cd/sq.m), illuminance (lux) and the ratio between the two.
This allows the user to determine a relative number that is ideal for monitor adjustment in specific lighting conditions.
A parameter button enables the operator to toggle between the two readings.
Both detectors have a spectral response close to that of the human eye as defined by CIE standards and the luminance detector is cosine corrected.
The instrument is auto-ranging with a built-in zero adjustment making it extremely easy to use.
There are two models of the Light-O-Meter: the P10 Standard and P10 Pro.
The main difference is that the P10 Pro provides enhanced software allowing the user to undertake relative measurement of luminance versus illuminance and to perform statistical calculation derived from up to five individual point readings.
The Light-O-Meter measures 48 x 74 x 143mm and weighs less than 270gm (10oz).
