Quick release gel clamping system incorporates two quick release screws on each side, which give sufficient pressure for adequate sealing
Electrophoresis specialist Scie-Plas continues to expand its range of products following the introduction of a new single maxi vertical gel unit, the TV300.
Features of the TV300 include faster gel loading thanks to a quick release gel clamping system, which also enables easy gel access.
The clamping system incorporates two quick release screws on each side, which give sufficient pressure for adequate sealing.
The even pressure parallel clamping system prevents lane distortion within the gels, while the clamping bars contain counter-balanced gaskets to prevent cassette bowing.
This eliminates the potential for 'smiling' and other pressure induced gel defects.
To further simplify set-up, glass plates now have bonded spacers as standard, and manual spacer alignment is no longer required when used in conjunction with the Scie-Plas two-gel caster.
A wide range of combs, spacers and other accessories are available giving the user the ability to choose exactly the equipment they require for their application.
This includes sixteen different models of power supply and six different sample number comb options, two of which are multi-channel pipette compatible, in six different thickness from 0.25mm up to 2mm.
These are colour coded according to thickness to aid in spacer-comb identification.
The potential for condensation is eliminated by strategically placed ventilation holes, which are located so as to prevent accidental contact during operation.
Other safety features include asymmetric lid offset electrodes, which prevent accidental polarity inversion, and an all-enclosing one-piece safety lid with integral electrode connections.
Typical applications for the TV300 unit include protein and nucleic acid separations, Maxi SDS-Page, preparative, peptide and gradient pore separations.
The Scie-Plas TV300 and casting systems are CE compliant and produced to manufacturing standards recognised and awarded ISO9002 certification.
