Syncroscopy has launched Auto-Montage version 4 software, designed to help microscope users obtain perfectly focused images of three-dimensional samples in seconds
Auto-Montage version 4 creates perfectly focused images of subjects at any magnification regardless of the depth of focus of the optics.
This is achieved by capturing a series of partially focused images, which are then automatically analysed to produce an infinite depth of focus image and a valuable depth map.
This new software version introduces a range of powerful new algorithms that take the quality of the montage image to new heights, as well as providing huge advances in the efficiency of the processing.
For example, the software can process 200Mb of image data to produce perfectly focused images in less than ten seconds.
In addition, Syncroscopy has built in a preview function that allows users to save even more time by seeing which of the software's montaging methods is the most appropriate for their sample before committing to a final processing step.
Bob Town, Syncroscopy's general sales manager, commented: "We are delighted with the new Auto-Montage version 4 and are confident that it will greatly extend the applicability of the system - particularly in areas such as entomology and fluorescence microscopy.
It will allow those working with specimens that are difficult to document due to depth of focus problems, to be able to quickly produce images, which they would not have previously thought possible."
