Disposable aprons, gloves and clinical waste sacks are treated with silver to provide a second line of defence in the fight against disease and infection spread by human contact within the workplace
BioCote reports another application for its silver based anti-microbial technology through a deal with Euro Packaging.
Disposable aprons, gloves and clinical waste sacks in the Euro Packaging range are used within the healthcare, catering, cleaning and other hygiene related markets.
The traditional barrier material prevention provided by these commodities is now further enhanced with a BioCote surface protection designed to help control the cross contamination and spread of infection and disease in areas of high risk.
Areas affected include hospitals, health centres, dental and veterinary practices as well as morticians.
Primary care provision within residential and rest homes, together with social services is also included, as well as cleaning agencies and sanitary or refuse services provided by local authorities.
Food production, preparation and catering operations, as applicable to a wide range of hospitality venues can also all benefit from the higher level of operating cleanliness and hygiene that can be achieved by utilising these products which offer the benefit of BioCote protective features.
Euro Packaging owns paper and plastic packaging manufacturing plants in Britain, China, Dubai, Malaysia and the USA.
The BioCote anti-microbial treatment is incorporated into the material mix of the Euro Packaging products during the manufacturing process.
The inorganic active ingredient used is anti-bacterial and anti fungal.
It can ensure up to 99.9% protection against the growth or proliferation of many common bacterial infections including salmonella, E coli, staphylococcus aureus including the resistant form MRSA, says BioCote.
It also provides a second line of defence in the fight against disease and infection spread by human contact within the workplace, or other areas of potential contamination.
