With increased travel over previous models and capable accepting samples up to 25mm thick, these high acccuracy extensometers are used to test high elongation materials to yield and break
Plastindia 2006 (New Delhi, 9-14 February 2006) will be the venue for the first public showing of Lloyd Instruments's versatile new EXPlus series of extensometers for the accurate extension measurement of materials such as semi-rigid plastics, elastomers and rubbers.
The extensometers will take pride of place together with a number of the company's materials testing machines for the plastics and rubber industries.
This will include the LFPlus and LRXPlus low force single column test instruments and the LR10KPlus twin column materials tester.
Also on show will be the Davenport MFI-10 melt flow indexer, equipped with an automatic flow rate timer to allow melt flow rate to be calculated without the need for a laboratory balance.
Available in two travel lengths, 250mm and 800mm, the EXPlus extensometers can be fitted to any of the company's EZ and Plus series of materials testing machines for testing up to 100kN, and will be demonstrated at the show on the LR10KPlus materials testing machine.
In addition to increased travel over previous models and capable accepting samples up to 25mm thick, these high acccuracy new extensometers can be mounted rigidly in a variety of ways, providing enormous adaptability for accommodating samples and fitting interchangeable grips.
They are used to test high elongation materials to yield and break in full accordance with ISO 9513: 2002.
The LFPlus, LRXPlus and LR10KPlus machines provide sophisticated materials testing capabilities for tensile, compression, flexural and friction testing applications at forces up to 1kN, 5kN and 10kN respectively.
All of the instruments on show can be operated under computer control with the company's Nexygen MT control and analysis software.
Nexygen software immediately recognises the plug-and-play extensometer and in addition features a vast library of international standard tests for many different applications.
To complement its range of manual and automatic melt flow indexers, Lloyd Instruments manufactures other Davenport polymer test instruments including HDT/Vicat measurement instruments, melt viscometers (for intrinsic and melt viscosity testing of PET), density gradient columns and falling dart impact testing equipment for plastic film.
