The new US300 from Yokogawa UK is an ultrasonic flowmeter that uses the transit-time technique to provide a high-performance non-intrusive flow measurement.
The non-intrusive 'dry' measuring technique eliminates the problems of cutting into the pipe to install the meter, pressure loss and wear and tear encountered in many flow-metering installations, resulting in a reduction in the total cost of ownership.
The new instrument will measure sound velocity to provide volumetric flow or mass flow in pipes up to 6.5metres in diameter, and has a measuring range from 0 to 110,000m3 per hour.
Advanced signal processing is based on a dual-processor system which provides transit-time correlation, while the use of a matched pair of stainless-steel transducers eliminates zero offsets and ensures excellent linearity.
The US300 can be supplied with either fixed or portable electronics.
Both versions have a two-line LCD display, up to two 4-20 mA outputs and an RS232 serial interface.
