Headwall Photonics announces availability of the Hyperspec family of integrated hyperspectral imaging instruments targeted for process manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and machine vision
Headwall, utilising the company's engineering experience as a supplier of high performance integrated spectrometer systems for spectral imaging and chemical sensing, has broadened its product offering in the field of hyperspectral imaging sensors to include three new integrated instruments: Hyperspec-VNIR (400-1000nm), Hyperspec-NIR (900-1700nm), and Hyperspec-SWIR (1000-2500nm).
Kenn Wildnauer, technology strategy manager at Agilent Technologies, stated that "a key strategic differentiation for Headwall is their ability to design and manufacture high performance spectral instruments utilising its high efficiency holographic diffraction gratings.
"These high performance instruments are designed for application-specific optical performance.
"In demanding application environments such as non-invasive medical imaging or process monitoring and quality control, spatial and spectral resolution are critical differentiators of their instrument performance.
"With Headwall's innovative engineering capabilities and DoD deployment experience, Headwall is well-positioned to extend its leadership position in the emerging field of hyperspectral imaging".
Formed in 2003 through a management buy-out from Agilent Technologies, Headwall's high performance spectrometers, spectral engines, and 'all original' holographic diffraction gratings have been selected by OEM and end-user customers around the world for use in critical application environments.
As a pioneer in the development of innovative spectral engines and imaging spectrometers based on optical technologies, Headwall says it enjoys a market leadership position through the design and manufacture of patented spectral photometric instrumentation customised for application-specific performance.
