Crane Electronics's CapStar II is the latest version of its digital torque tester for accurate, digital measurement of bottle top torque
This versatile, portable tool has a 200 date and time stamped reading memory and can download data to a PC or printer.
It also incorporates a programmable torque threshold for fast and easy testing.
CapStar II has been specifically designed for use in the food, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries and can measure both tightening and releasing torque.
Containers and bottles to be tested are placed in an adjustable fixture which is capable of damping circular or unusual shapes from 10mm to 130mm diameter.
Optional long pegs are available for taller bottles while child resistant closures, commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry, can also be tested.
CapStar II is a durable drip proof ABS housing and wipe clean surface.
It has touch sensitive controls and for portability is battery powered with an optional mains charger.
An LCD digital readout displays the peak torque value of each test.
Statistical analysis of sigma, mean and range is also available when data is either printed or downloaded to a PC.
Crane Electronics has published new literature on CapStar which is available directly from the company
