DeltaNu, a supplier of portable Raman spectrometers, announced that Tony Nevshemal has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer
In this newly created role, Tony Nevshemal is responsible for the day-to-day operations, finance, procurement, quality assurance and the manufacturing unit of DeltaNu.
He brings over 12 years of senior management, licensing and technology experience to DeltaNu.
"My career has been focused on creating and managing resources for technology-based companies, so a management position at a great company like DeltaNu is a natural step for me," said Nevshemal.
"DeltaNu has produced some very high quality products and I look forward to the challenge of scaling-up operations.
"I am excited to come at a time when I can help shape the business and fulfill the company's full potential as a leader in Raman spectroscopy".
Nevshemal was the director of the Research Products Center at the University of Wyoming which provides technology transfer services for the university's $65 million research enterprise; the office also performs intellectual property outreach.
He designed a programme to protect University of Wyoming inventions and then market these inventions to industry, and in a two and a half year period, he dramatically increased office income and the number of invention disclosures received.
Prior to this position, he held management positions at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, a subsidiary of EI du Pont de Nemours.
As a technology licensing manager, he negotiated, executed and administered all aspects of technology agreements.
Nevshemal also managed a laboratory for Pioneer and set-up numerous satellite laboratories.

Nevshemal earned an MBA from Drake University, a masters of science in biological sciences and bachelor of arts in biology and botany from the University of Iowa.
