Photonic Products, a UK optoelectronics device manufacturer and laser diode specialist, has launched a 25mW version of its popular 405nm (blue-violet) Photon laser diode modules with TTL modulation
The 25mW output power offered by the module provides higher energy density with a significantly higher signal to noise ratio and consequently greater accuracy and sensitivity for biomedical and biochemical analysis applications such as flow cytometry and laser-induced fluorescence sensing, where the objective is to collect as much fluorescent signal as possible.
Designed as a complete laser diode solution for OEMs, the 405nm laser modules are also ideal for use in areas such industrial imaging and inspection, spectroscopy, microscopy, medical imaging and many other emerging technologies where power, accuracy and sensitivity are vital.
The compact and efficient 405nm laser modules produce a stable elliptical output beam of 3.5x2mm with output power of 25mW.
The glass AR coated aspherical lens may be adjusted to produce either a collimated beam or focused spot.
The standard lens may be replaced by other optical systems such as line generators.
The laser is extremely stable and reliable and offers the added advantage of TTL modulation input which will accept signals from DC up to 1kHz minimum.
TTL modulation can be used to enable, inhibit or modulate the laser.
Operating voltage is from 8V to 12VDC at an operating current of 80mA.
Beam divergence is typically <0.6 x 0.3mrad.
Operating temperature range is -10C to +50C.
The modules are cylindrical with an optional 25mm mounting flange and consist of an aluminium housing, laser diode, drive circuit and collimating lens.
Mechanical dimensions are a compact 12mm diameter x 43mm length.
Electrical connections are made via external flying leads.
