Vaisala is testing precision weather services in four locations in southern Finland
You can check the current weather at Helsinki swimming stadium and Hietaranta beach as well as at Luukki and Kytaja golf courses.
The service is available in Finnish throughout the summer.
The experiment is part of the Helsinki Testbed project which is a joint effort between Vaisala and Finnish Meteorological Institute.
The project promotes the measurement and understanding of fine-scale weather phenomena, ie, local weather.
The goal is to develope and test new instruments, methods and distribution channels for weather observation.
During the experiment the equipment will be tested and feedback gathered in order to develop new precision weather services.
The weather information - temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction and rain - is measured with Vaisala weather transmitter WXT 510.
Both the weather information and the web cam image are updated every five minutes.
