The FS315 spectrum analyser, now available from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is the latest addition to the Rohde and Schwarz Smart instrument series
The FS315 is a highly accurate spectrum analyser with a frequency range of 9kHz to 3GHz, and uses digital frequency processing technique to offer high measurement quality at a reasonable price.
The new instrument also includes a tracking generator that extends its field of application to scalar transmission and reflection measurements.
A special feature of the tracking generator is user-selectable frequency offset in the range from zero to 3GHz, which makes it possible to perform measurements on frequency-converting devices such as frequency mixers.
For simple applications, the tracking generator can also be used as a continuous-wave signal source with a permanently set frequency.
The FS315 can be used to determine electric field strength by taking into account antenna factors.
Altogether up to ten transducer lists can be generated using the software provided.
These lists can be combined by means of transducer sets into a cumulative correction factor for a complete measurement system including antenna, various cables and additional amplifiers.
The FS315 is available for demonstration from TTi and has a UK price of £5499 (plus VAT).
