ChemSW announced an February 2003 an update to its CISPro CIS chemical inventory system, providing a function for the automatic scheduling of materials moves.
Ideal for applications where materials and containers are held in stock rooms or warehouses, the inventory management program takes information on upcoming lab projects from all parts of the company and automatically generates daily or weekly lists of chemicals that need to be transferred.
This replaces a process involving phone calls, handwritten lists and manual information entry, for significant time savings and improved efficiency.
"With this new functionality, the stock room or warehouse manager has an electronically transmitted 'pick list' of what needs to be delivered to various labs," commented Brian Stafford, president of ChemSW.
"This adds to the ongoing stream of upgrades we have been delivering to keep in step with our customers' workflow processes".
ChemSW's CIS Pro was developed specifically for the management and tracking of laboratory chemicals in regulated environments.
The functionality is included in the enterprise system, in versions for SQL- and Oracle-based applications.
