ChemSW unveiled its new wireless palmtop scanning capability for chemical inventory at Pittcon 2001
Using RF communication, the Symbol Technologies-based system allows immediate, real-time inventory updates whenever new chemicals are received or created.
The Symbol Technologies wireless palmtop scanner, configured with CIS Chemical Inventory Systems software from ChemSW, is carried on a belt clip along with a label printer.
Operators can scan an arriving chemical into the inventory and label it immediately.
The palmtop device has its own IP address, for a web-based link to the inventory database.
"This new option enables users of CIS software to sharpen the ongoing accuracy of their chemical inventory data," comments Brian Stafford, president of ChemSW.
"The palmtop scanner eliminates delays between the time a chemical arrives in the receiving area and when the system shows it is on site and available for use."
