Southern Scientific, with the National Physical Laboratory, produces a new Secondary Standard radionuclide calibrator that represents the next generation of instrument in accuracy and traceability
Designed for the user who requires the ultimate in precision, the new calibrator, designated Fidelis, uses a chamber developed at the National Physical Laboratory in conjunction with Southern Scientific's new state-of-the-art, high resolution, Pam Electrometer module.
It is recommended for calibration checking and approval of radiopharmacy assay calibrators and calibration check sources.
Each chamber is a fully certified Secondary Standard traceable to the UK National Standard and each instrument is provided with a well liner and removable sample holder for the assay of vials, syringes and ampoules.
All types of vial and syringes recommended by NPL are supported.
Fidelis provides automatic zero and background subtraction, automatic daily, monthly and yearly tests and is designed to meet the NPL measurement good practice guide.
A USB interface provides simple PC access and comprehensive Windows compatible software, provides the user with a powerful set of measurement tools.
Compatibility with nuclear medicine management systems is provided with data export to Excel.
The system has been designed so that it is 'future proof' in that new vials and isotopes can be added as they become available.
Upgrades are available for older systems.
