GOrg, a unique organic phosphor, extends and improves the sensitivity of the CCD device between 150 and 400nm, significantly improving the quantum efficiency of the detector in this wavelength range
Applied Scintillation Technologies (AST) has produced specially coated CCD detectors for use in a range of spectrometers including those for spark emission - where they are used for the analysis of ferrous or non-ferrous metals; with the CCD solid state detectors providing detection of optical emission lines over the spectral range of 170-460nm.
Detectors are coated with GOrg, a unique organic phosphor used exclusively by AST for robust UV applications as part of its ExtendUV range of phosphors.
This high-efficiency phosphor is excited at wavelengths between 150 and 400nm with an emission peak at 545nm.
GOrg therefore extends and improves the sensitivity of the CCD device between 150 and 400nm, significantly improving the quantum efficiency of the detector in this wavelength range.
At wavelengths above 400nm, the coating becomes virtually transparent.
AST's versatile coating service provides a range of options, including the supply and coating of devices or coating only.
New high- transmission windows may also be fitted and full QC testing carried out.
