Keith Carron was awarded with the 2007 Bravo Entrepreneur Award for southeast Wyoming, recognising the best traits of entrepreneurship, vision, drive, perseverance and willingness to take risks
Carron was recognised for his role in the growth of DeltaNu in Laramie, Wyoming.
DeltaNu manufactures turnkey, low-cost, high performance Raman spectrometers for academia and industry.
Raman spectrometers are used to identify materials by irradiating the material to be identified with a laser and measuring the characteristic bands of light inelastically scattered from the material.
The process is rapid and nondestructive.
The DeltaNu product line started with a single bench-top spectrometer and has grown to include several bench-top systems, portable and hand-held models, and Raman microscopes.
DeltaNu was recently acquired by Intevac, an equipment manufacturing firm in Santa Clara.
Intevac is keeping DeltaNu in Laramie, WY.
The 2007 Bravo Entrepreneur Awards are sponsored by the Wyoming Business Report, the Wyoming Business Council, the Wyoming Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Wyoming Business Alliance, the Heritage Foundation and the Wyoming Economic Development Association.
