The new packages are an integral part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's wide range of educational and technical support offerings and are ideal for use with the Thermo Scientific Nicolet IR100 and IR200 spectrometers.
Easy to use, the educational packages require only an FT-IR spectrometer and basic sampling accessories such as transmission cells or an ATR (attenuated total reflectance) accessory.
Initial experiments introduce students to FT-IR spectroscopy, providing the opportunity to discuss the FT-IR process, examine functional groups and present quantitative analysis.
Application-specific experiments are also covered, focusing on isomer concepts, analysing HCI gas, comparing classes of recycling plastics and isolation and identification of essential oils.
