The conferee networking committee selected 21 new sessions in addition to six titles retained from 2007, including the popular 'Electronic nose and tongue instruments for smell and taste analysis'
The Pittsburgh Conference has released the topics for the conferee networking sessions (CNS) which will be offered at Pittcon 2008, 2-7 March 2008, in New Orleans at the Ernest Morial Convention Center.
Conferee networking sessions were first introduced at Pittcon 2007, and the eight sessions offered were a tremendous success.
CNS chairman Pat Bordell commented: "We were very pleased with the conferee participation in last year's sessions and wanted to build on that success for this year".
One of the goals for Pittcon 2008 was to increase the number of sessions to provide more diversity in the programme.
She further stated, "We believe this year's expanded programme that includes 27 sessions will provide a most unique and rewarding networking opportunity for conferees".
Suggestions were submitted by conferees in response to a call for topics issued in August.
Sessions are offered in the pharmaceutical, analytical, environmental, statistical, and life science areas.
Some of the topics included in the 2008 programme are:.
New LC and MS technologies for rapid information generation in pharmaceutical development.
Thermal analysis users' forum.
Analysis of explosives and energetics: from forensic/trace to production support.
Green chemistry/green chemists in the office, lab and schools: what can i do to make our world 'greener'.
Ambient ionisation mass spectrometry.
Participation in the CNS is free to registered conferees and exhibitors; however, seating is limited.
In addition to Pittcon registration, those who wish to attend the networking sessions and want to guarantee a space should also register in advance for the session(s) of their choice.
