GE Healthcare announces the launch of the photo- and ozone-stable Amersham HyPer5 fluorescent dye for gene expression and aCGH applications
Amersham HyPer5 is an optimised microarray dye which performs consistently throughout the year delivering reproducible results, irrespective of environmental conditions and number of scans.
Amersham HyPer5 fluorescent dyes are photo and ozone stable, delivering more consistent performance on microarrays year round.
The dyes are available as the NHS active ester for coupling to aminoallyl modified cDNA (or amplified RNA) in post labelling experiments, or as the dCTP analogue for spiking the dye-nucleotide in direct enzymic incorporation and probe labeling reactions.
Robustness and environmental stability: photostability and resistance to signal loss from exposure to light, ozone and repeated scanning thereby providing consistent and reproducible results.
Ozone stability: enables array experiments to be performed with HyPer5 dyes under any environmental conditions.
Photostability: prevents a decline in signal strength from the rescanning of arrays.
Efficient probe labeling: probes can be generated by post labeling or direct incorporation starting from total and mRNA for gene expression experiments.
In addition, the ability to synthesise probes from genomic DNA for array CGH application demonstrates the versatility of HyPer5.
Dual colour hybridisation: HyPer5 dye allows a direct comparison with Cy3 signal levels in expression analysis from both direct and post-labelling experiments.
