Around 4000 global exhibitors from 50 countries look set to attract about 180 000 visitors from 100 countries to Achema 2009, the trade fair for chemical engineering and related disciplines
Achema 2009 takes place at Frankfurt Messe exhibition in Frankfurt am Main, Germany from 11 to 15 May 2009.
Achema runs every third year during May.
Achema 2009's organiser Dechema (the German society for chemical engineering and biotechnology) is once again anticipating a huge influx of visitors from China, India and South Korea including a number of government delegations.
The previous Achema event saw a rise of 30 percent in visitor numbers from outside Germany.
There was also a 20 percent increase in non-German exhibitors.
The number of Asian companies exhibiting saw a 100 percent increase.
The Laboratory and Analytical Techniques section of Achema 2009 is expected to draw 40 000 visitors alone thereby making it the largest single laboratory industry event worldwide, says the organiser.
The section will feature about 840 exhibitors with a further 520 companies focused on instrumentation, control and automation technologies.
Mike Day, UK and Ireland representative for Achema, said: "Once again Achema 2009 plans to be the world's largest industry event and will provide purchasers and manufacturers with a truly global platform on which to establish new business contacts and to discuss the latest developments and trends.
"With more than 70 UK companies to exhibit at the event this makes the exhibition of huge interest and significance to UK laboratory managers and technicians.
Achema 2009 will feature 140,000m2 net exhibition space and will run an international congress comprising 900 lectures focused on state-of-the-art developments.
