Lec Medical has launched a USB temperature data logger which will accurately record temperature fluctuations on refrigerators and freezers up to every ten seconds, around the clock
The information recorded will give piece of mind and takes the guess work out of sensitive medical storage in the event of a power cut or the refrigerator being accidentally switched off.
According to Matt Newsome, marketing manager for Lec Medical at GDPA: "We can now offer reassurance that even outside working hours, every change in internal temperature is being logged to a +1C level of accuracy, with logging taking place at any rate of frequency between 10 seconds and 12 hours.
"It takes the guesswork out of sensitive medical storage, and will give a full picture for greater safety.
"For example, overnight temperature fluctuations, due to power cuts or surges, may have corrected themselves by the time the temperature reading is checked the following morning.
Using the ATMDL01 you have piece of mind that the temperature will have been recorded and in the event of any power failure you can clearly see what temperature the drugs were stored at and for how long".
The ATMDL01 USB temperature data logger has a measurement range of -35 to +80C and can store up to 16,382 readings.
The data logger comes with a long-life replaceable lithium battery which will last at least one year (depending on logging rate and temperature).
Data logger configuration software is supplied on a CD and is very easy to set up.
The downloaded data can be graphed, printed or exported to other applications, and is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista.
Selectable parameters include logging rate, measurement units, high and low alarms and start-time.
The status of ATMDL01 is indicated by flashing red, green and orange LEDs, and the data logger is protected against moisture to IP67 standard when the protective cap is fitted.
