Agreement between Eduserv Chest and Maplesoft makes high-performance maths software tools available on a site-wide basis to academic sites, research councils and selected others in the UK and Ireland
Maple 12, Maplesoft's flagship software, is an essential tool in any maths or technical discipline.
It provides teachers with an interactive, visual way to deliver lessons and explain complex theories in maths, science or engineering courses.
The user-friendly interface enables students to work through and solve any level of problem without a complicated software learning curve.
With Maple's sheer breadth of math features and a wide range of available add-on products, researchers can broaden their work horizons and realise their concepts fast.
Maple site licences start from just ?3240 a year and include the Maple Toolbox for Matlab and Maplenet (for worksheet deployment on the Web).
Also available through Chest is Maple TA, Maplesoft's powerful web-based system for creating and assessing tests, assignments and exercises and a range of add-ons to expand Maple.
Chest agreements are in demand because they save money and provide advantageous terms and conditions to suit academic requirements.
They enable site-wide software installation and ensure the most current version via free upgrades and maintenance.
Staff can be provided with free home-use Maple licences, while students have access to discounted personal copies.
What's more, Maple add-ons like toolboxes, study guides and ebooks are available at low site-licence prices.
"The Maple Chest licence has been a long time coming," said Elaine Bragg, the main driving force behind its creation and commercial director of Adept Scientific.
"It's taken months of paper chasing and fine tuning to make sure the agreement provides institutions with the very best terms.
"As it turns out, the agreement couldn't have come at a better time thanks to the recent launch of brand-new Maple 12 and Maple TA 4.0.
"The addition of the very latest maths software to campus resources can only help to attract more students come enrolment time".
The Maplesoft product range is supplied and supported by Adept Scientific in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Nordic countries.
