Adept Scientific has released Design Science's MathType 6 for Macintosh, an upgrade that adds support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Intel Macs and Microsoft Office 2008.
Mathtype 6 includes TeX/LaTeX input and the ability to copy equations to and from Wikipedia.
It is the full-featured, professional version of the Equation Editor in Microsoft Office and can be used to include mathematical notation in printed documents, presentations and web pages.
It can copy equations from existing TeX documents, and scientists who already know TeX typesetting language can type expressions directly into MathType.
Users can copy relevant equations from Wikipedia for use in their own work, and MathType equations can be copied into Wikipedia's page editor to create new pages or edit existing ones.
Mathtype 6 can copy or drag equations from any web page that contains accessible maths directly into MathType.
It is a universal application that runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh computers and has all the features of MathType 6 for Windows.
