Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of two additions to its range of Hypersil Gold HPLC columns.
The columns are packed with 1.9um particles and are available in two dimensions.
They have been designed to increase productivity for users in HPLC and Fast LC analyses.
Thermo Fisher Scientific said the columns were suited to rapid quantitative separations.
The Thermo Scientific Hypersil Gold 1.9um Javelin HTS column enables rapid analysis times and is suited to applications such as dissolution tests, reaction monitoring and main band assays.
The Javelin HTS column format utilises ultra-low dead volume and direct-connect hardware to minimise dispersion.
Additionally, 1.9um Hypersil Gold media is available packed into a high pressure column 50mm long with a 4.6mm internal diameter.
Traditionally, a 1.9um column is used on ultra high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC) instruments.
However, by producing less backpressure, the wider column is attainable to users of conventional systems where pressure limits are often in the 6000psi/400 bar region, ensuring fast chromatography without the need for extensive instrument optimisation.
Equally, the column can still be used on UHPLC instruments.
