Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a facility in Reinach, Switzerland, to support the large pharmaceutical and chemical industry cluster near the French and German borders.
The facility houses Thermo Fisher's analytical instrument operations and consolidates the Flux Instruments and Spectronex product lines that were acquired from Swissanalytic Group.
Formally opened in September, the 12,000ft2 facility features a 3,200ft2 demonstration laboratory containing Thermo Scientific mass spectrometers and other laboratory instruments and consumables.
In the laboratory, customers will be able to work closely with the company's technical experts to gain hands-on experience with new instrumentation.
The facility also houses recently relocated commercial operations for the Fisher Scientific sales channel.
