Biomicrolab has brought out the XL100 vial handling system.
It features robotic handling capabilities for expanded sizes of tubes and vials, 1D labelled bar code decoding, 2D marked bar code decoding and an integrated four-place balance for weighing applications.
The XL100 vial handling instrument features an intelligent pick head, allowing flexibility when changing between tube and vial sizes.
The XL100 is powered by Biomicrolab's XL Work List Manager software interface.
IT development software tools will be available via an ActiveX software developer's tool kit for labs wanting to integrate the XL100 robot with other laboratory LIMS systems and robots.
Future modular capabilities of the XL100 vial handling instrument will include: screw cap decapper, integrated thermal blocks for frozen sample sorting, five-place balance for weighing applications and a robotic dispensing station for liquid handling applications.
The XL100 vial handling instrument will handle a wider variety of tube and vial sizes, including one to 16ml volumes.
