Thermo Fisher Scientific is offering the 'Plate of the Month' initiative, which gives scientists the opportunity to trial ABgene PCR and QPCR plates.
The first Plate of the Month is the Thermo Scientific low profile ABgene PCR plate (ref AB-0700).
Thermo Scientific will give away one case (containing 25 plates) of these low profile PCR plates in November 2008 to the first 10 applicants.
The low profile ABgene PCR plate has shorter wells than standard PCR plates, making it ideal for use with reaction volumes of less than 20ul.
Decreasing the dead space in the well helps reduce condensation, preventing reduction in reaction volume and increasing the reaction's efficiency.
The plate has alphanumeric grid referencing, a raised rim around each well for improved sealing, and a cut-away corner for easy plate orientation.
The low profile ABgene PCR plate is manufactured from non-porous virgin (medical grade) polypropylene and is quality tested to ensure it is free from DNase, RNase and endotoxin contamination.
