Biotek Instruments has announced that its Synergy Mx monochromator-based microplate reader is now DLReady certified for dual-luciferase (DL) assays.
The certification, awarded by Promega, establishes the Synergy Mx as meeting the high performance levels and standards for Promega's Dual-Luciferase Reporter (DLR) assay system - a widely used luminescence-based assay for measuring gene transcription and control in microplate format.
The DLR assay system provides rapid quantitation of firefly and Renilla luciferase reporters in transfected cells or in cell-free transcription/translation reactions.
The combination of two reporter assays in one system provides improved efficiency in less time with attomole sensitivities and no endogenous activity in the experimental host cells.
Biotek's Synergy Mx monochromator-based microplate reader with ultra-fine tuned technology provides fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance performance normally only found in dedicated single-mode systems.
The top- and bottom-read fluorescence system is fully monochromator-based and equipped with a bandpass selection system for added flexibility.
A premium quadruple grating architecture guarantees the best level of wavelength discrimination and smooth spectral scans, and optional dual-reagent dispensers allow precise control of reagent additions and timing in Promega's DLR assay system as well as kinetic studies, ion channel assays and flash assays.
Additionally, a cuvette port increases versatility by allowing for cuvette-based assays and comparisons with standard cuvette spectrophotometers.
With its modular format, the required modes can be selected for specific laboratory needs and upgraded at any time as the needs change.
