The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) has announced that London's Excel will host Microscience 2010, a conference and exhibition on microscopy, imaging and analysis in the life and physical sciences.
The first call for papers has now been made and the deadline for abstract submission is Monday 1 March 2010.
'The 2010 programme aims to strike a balance between life and materials science, and between electron and light microscopy,' said Dr Debbie Stokes, the RMS honorary secretary for physical science and co-chair of the organising committee.
The conference comprises three parallel themes - Life, Materials and New Techniques and Frontiers - comprising a total of 18 symposia that reflect the breadth of microscopical science.
'We are anticipating a high number of submissions and I know that the symposia organisers are looking forward to receiving their first batches of abstracts,' said Dr Paul Monaghan, president of the RMS and a member of the organising committee.
Each symposium will include invited and submitted talks and poster presentations, and will run alongside the exhibition, to be held from 28 June to 1 July 2010.
